UBER and how it works

Do you need a ride or a job or a part time Job?

***Uber has an option where you can lease a car from them eliminating the need to own a vehicle.

UBER is a system similar to a taxi business. You download the "app" to your smartphone or tablet and are then able to request rides at a moment's notice. The service allows you to see how long an UBER ride is away from you at any given moment and even shows you a map of where they are. The payment is debited to your credit card so there is no actual financial transaction between the driver and passenger. You can input the pickup and destination into your smartphone or tablet and request an estimate of the cost before you summon the driver. Once you click "request" a driver you are on the hook for payment even if you don't use the service so be careful to practice with short rides in case you push "request" by mistake;-). Anyway, as soon as you press "request" a driver will accept the request and you will receive a notification with the driver's first name and a picture and description of his car & telling you he is inroute. He shows up and takes you to your destination and you get out! you will get a message from UBER showing the exact amount your credit card was charged and provide a comment opportunity and a 1-5 star rating for you to give the driver. It's quick easy and you don't have to try to figure out if or how much to tip the driver or how long it might take before he arrives....

It's a very low-cost startup business for the driver to get into, but remember it only takes a couple complaints and you are out of work. Consequently, don't run out and buy a car on payments to start up the business. However, if you already have a car and are willing to do the driving g for it You can work any hours you choose and stop any time you choose. You simply log on when you want to work and log off when you don't.

Uber drivers

  • Must have a driver's license with minimal points
  • Must have a late model car (I think at least a 4-door sedan)
  • Must be a legal driver (insurance.....)
  • Must keep good relationships with customers (2 complaints and they can be fired by UBER)
  • Must have a smartphone or tablet
Uber users
  • Must be signed up through UBER
  • Must provide UBER with a valid credit card for payment
  • Must have a smartphone or tablet
  • Must be willing to use the system properly or pay any fees that result from improper use.
